About the Department

Established in the year 2010, the Department of Civil Engineering has made great strides during the short period of its existence. The classroom sessions are expected to be interactive encouraging the students to think independently to promote creativity, yet maintain classroom discipline. Further, the department conducts industrial visits, conferences, expert talks and advance training programmes on various thrust areas. The department provides training on STAAD. Pro and AUTOCAD for its students. The department has a Society of Civil Engineers (SOCE) with all students of the programme as members. The society provides the students a platform to interact with their counterparts from other colleges, leading academicians, industrialists, and professional bodies. The department organises its own technical fest named “SPECTRUM” where the students of the departments organises various technical programmes related to civil engineering. The faculty pays personal and individual attention in motivating and moulding young students into qualified professionals and responsible engineers through its well established mentoring system.

 

Goals of the Department:

  1. To provide students with a supportive environment that facilitates learning the advances in Civil Engineering.
  2. To impart the state-of-the-art knowledge in the relevant field of Civil Engineering.
  3. To provide excellence in learning through dedicated teaching, innovation and industrial projects.
  4. To imbibe self learning attitude and professional ethics.
  5.  To prepare students to face the challenges in the area of Civil Engineering.

  3. Infrastructure: - Department has developed extraordinary Infrastructure, Class Room, Laboratories, CAD labs etc.
  4. Industrial interaction: - Department has strong links with construction Industries in the form of regular Industrial Visits, Guest Lecturers, and Summer Training for all students and value added workshop on auto-CAD.
  5. Co-curricular activities: - Students Counseling, Teacher Guardian, Academic Workshop & Seminars from Industries/Academicians Expert
  6. Social activities: - Swachhata Abhiyan, Tree Plantation, Conservation Of Water/Rain water rally, project related on rural development etc.

As a civil engineer, you will have to plan out, design and supervise the construction of different types of buildings. You need to posses good knowledge of mathematics and science. Also, you must also have good supervisory and administrative skills. Furthermore, you must be ready to sweat it out at construction sites and even work under stressful and hostile conditions. And if you think you fit the bill then civil engineering is the right profession for you.

HOD's Message

I take the privilege to welcome you all to the Department of Civil Engineering. The aim of the department is to impart the students a sound knowledge of the theory of civil engineering subjects with exposure to practical knowledge through laboratories and field study. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary team work, communication skills, tools and skills for professional practice, and lifelong learning. We strive to ensure that our graduates understand professional ethics and the value of service to their profession and society through involvement in community, state, and national organizations.

The department of Civil Engineering at IMPS College of Engineering and Technology has an excellent infrastructure and labs with skilled teaching faculties ensuring quality education. We encourage regular interaction among students, parents and staff for a bright future for the students.
